The National Society of Poland PZK has announced it is preparing to assist in communications and Radio Amateurs were asked to monitor 3760kHz as the country braced itself for heavy flooding.
The flood on the Vistula, Poland’s largest river, was expected to peak last night (Thursday) and flood waters have swept through the capital Warsaw. Announcements earlier on the PZK website indicated that club station SP9KDA was preparing to assist in communications and Radio Amateurs across Poland were urged to monitor the Amateur Radio HF emergency frequency 3760kHz as well as VHF FM 145.300 and 145.550 MHz and repeaters in the affected areas.
